ZACK’S ROLE AT BLAST IT CLEAN
Zack has been a team lead for Blast It Clean for almost a year now. He oversees team members working in the field, ensures excellent quality, and sets the pace for the job. He does an outstanding job managing and communicating with the operation managers, and is very passionate about his work. We are proud to have a person like Zack on our team!

WHAT WAS YOUR DREAM JOB WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD?
I wanted to go to Harley-Davidson school and open up my own shop and build custom Harley’s. I’m into motorcycles and cars, really anything with a motor.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT WORKING AT OUR COMPANY?
For real the comradery. It keeps me out of trouble. A lot of these guys I work with are closer than any blood I have other than my kids.
DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS OR HOBBIES THAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT?
I couldn’t honestly tell you off the top of my head, other than that I’m smarter than I look. It comes with a broad spectrum of skills that a lot of people wouldn’t know that I had. I don’t really have time for a hobby, but when I do get time I like to go spend time with my kids. I work a lot. I used to lift a lot of weights and play football in high school, but I don’t have time for that now.
CAN YOU SHARE A MEMORABLE MOMENT OR ACCOMPLISHMENT FROM YOUR TIME AT BLAST IT CLEAN?
Being down in Brownsville, Texas. Since I have worked for this company, I’ve seen 3 or 4 different beach areas, the space needle, Total Energy, and have gotten to travel to a lot of places, falling into a good spot. I met some family-like brothers through Blast It Clean. I had never traveled in my life before, so traveling to Galveston, Tacoma, Seattle, and Brownsville is all memorable to me.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND WHY?
Probably Great Britain or Puerto Rico, something to do with my biological father’s side of the family. My grandma who was originally from Great Britain met my grandpa who was originally from Puerto Rico during WWII. So for me, I want to go see the places where my family is from.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM AND WHY?
The Chiefs because I grew up in the area about 20 minutes north of Fort Scott, KS.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN OUTSIDE OF WORK?
I like to fish and spend time with my kids. We’ve been spending time at the lake a lot recently whenever I’ve been home. Grew up in a small town, the city life doesn’t really do it for me.
IF YOU HAD A TIME MACHINE, WOULD YOU TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE OR BACK TO THE PAST?
Honestly, I can’t answer that one, I would have to say neither. I don’t wanna know what the future lies and don’t want to revisit the past because it’s done and gone. There are certain situations I would want to go revisit, but I’m cool with living in the present.
WHAT’S SOMETHING THAT YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY OR LEARN?
I want to go base jumping. You run off the side of a building or mountain and parachute down.
WHAT FICTIONAL CHARACTER DO YOU IDENTIFY WITH THE MOST AND WHY?
I have no idea. I don’t really watch TV, but Chuck Norris. He’s not fictional, but you know. He’s in Walker, Texas Ranger.
IF YOU COULD ELIMINATE ONE STATE, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
Kansas. It’s bad when you have to skirt around your own hometown that you grew up in and feel like you need to hide from the police when you know you haven’t done anything wrong. It’s just how they are.
DESCRIBE YOUR MOST BIZARRE LIFE EXPERIENCE THUS FAR
I got to experience seeing the magnitude of what Total Energy has going on. We drove onto the beach and walked up to see the backside of the launch pad. They were working on building a whole new site, for a completely different project. It was cool because we got to see 10 or 12 rockets standing up inside and outside of buildings and on the launch pad. It looked like it was almost supposed to be a war scene where they were getting ready to shoot them into space at aliens or something.
WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON THAT YOU’VE LEARNED FROM WORKING WITH THE TEAM?
Patience and perspective.
