DARYL’S S ROLE AT BLAST IT CLEAN
Daryl is Blast It Clean’s Shop Manager. He ensures everything stays stocked and ship-shape to keep processes and business running smoothly. He also helps on-site with designing and building scaffolding.

WHAT LED YOU TO JOIN BLAST IT CLEAN?
Kenny had asked me to run the warehouse. And so I said absolutely, I saw it as an opportunity to work with him and move into a field I had yet to be in and it’s something to learn and grow in.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WORKING WITH THE BLAST IT CLEAN TEAM?
The conversations that I have are always interesting. It’s fun, everyone has a relaxed demeanor for the most part. We have a melting pot of personalities and it really makes it interesting because, while I dislike people as a whole, I like observing people and their behaviors.
WHAT HOBBIES OR ACTIVITIES DO YOU ENJOY OUTSIDE OF WORK?
In the summertime, I like riding my motorcycle and skateboarding. I also love kayaking. I like camping with my kids, it’s fun. Just being outdoors in general.
WHAT’S A MOVIE OR TV SHOW YOU’VE WATCHED WAY TOO MANY TIMES?
The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Breaking Bad, Fight Club, and Archer.
WHAT’S A BUCKET LIST ITEM YOU HOPE TO CROSS OFF SOON?
I would like to go to Italy to eat and drink. I also would like to go to places that have old, giant castles. Or even old cathedrals like Notre Dame.
WHAT’S THE BEST ROAD TRIP OR VACATION YOU’VE EVER BEEN ON?
I flew to Boston and drove all the way up to Rockport, Maine on a Thursday because I was bored on a Tuesday. I was by myself and that was super fun. Driving up the East Coast was really beautiful. My second favorite is when my kids and I drove to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado. It was absolutely breathtaking.
WHAT’S ONE THING YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN BUT HAVEN’T TRIED YET?
To learn Italian, just to be able to speak it and have a conversation with someone.
HOW DO YOU ENSURE THE SHOP OPERATES SMOOTHLY AND EFFICIENTLY?
I communicate openly. I also communicate in ways where the person that I’m speaking to will comprehend what I’m saying. If you think about it, you have relationships with your coworkers so-to-speak and the only way to have a healthy relationship is to have communication.
IF YOU COULD USE ANY TOOL OR EQUIPMENT IN THE SHOP FOR A FUN PERSONAL PROJECT, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
The paint sprayer, to make a piece of art where someone acts out something and I spray over them to make a silhouette.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MEAL OR RESTAURANT?
My favorite meal is baked ziti. My favorite restaurant is difficult because it depends on my mood. Right now it would have to be Cascones because we’ve been going there quite a bit.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE LOOKING TO START A CAREER IN THIS INDUSTRY?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Whatever it is that you excel at, let it be known, so we can utilize you properly that way you’re happy with your work and we’re happy with your work.
