Turning Projects into Progress – Meet Josh
Employee Spotlight is a new series intended to share a glimpse into our team. Our hope is that you can get to know us a little better.
JOSH’S ROLE AT BLAST IT CLEAN
Josh is the newest addition to our administration team as an estimator and salesman. He communicates with clients and assists with needs. We are super happy to have him on board and watch him grow within our company.
“Josh has come into the company and fit in like he has been here for years. He is constantly working hard to uncover opportunities with clients that we do not currently do business with. A great addition to an already great team.”
— Ken, Sales & Estimating
WHAT FIRST DREW YOU TO BLAST IT CLEAN?
Ken. I’ve worked with him before and have always admired how he operates — solid guy, knows his stuff, and somehow makes chaos look organized. After meeting Rick and seeing the two of them in action, it just clicked. The mix of good people and good work made it feel like the right place to be.
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF HELPING CLIENTS WITH THEIR PROJECTS?
The “before and after.” There’s something satisfying about taking a mess and turning it into something clean, safe, and ready to go. Plus, happy clients make all the hard work worth it.
WHAT’S SOMETHING YOU’VE LEARNED ABOUT THE INDUSTRY SINCE JOINING THE TEAM?
No two jobs are ever the same—and that’s what keeps it interesting. Every project teaches you something new, sometimes whether you wanted to learn it or not. Relationships matter.
WHAT’S ONE HOBBY OR ACTIVITY YOU’VE GOTTEN INTO RECENTLY?
Just trying to convince my golf game to cooperate. Still waiting on results, but I’ve nailed the part where you walk around and pretend you know what went wrong.
IF YOU WEREN’T WORKING IN SALES AND ESTIMATING, WHAT WOULD YOU DO INSTEAD?
Probably something hands-on—I like seeing progress happen in real time. Or maybe a food critic… I’ve got the eating part down.
IF YOU COULD TAKE A WEEK OFF ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?
Somewhere with a beach, cold drinks, and zero cell service. Basically, the opposite of a job site—and I wouldn’t check email once (probably).
IF YOU HAD TO DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
Driven. Easygoing. Selectively sarcastic.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO WITH FRIENDS OR FAMILY?
Watching the Chiefs, sharing some laughs, and good BBQ—that’s pretty much the recipe for a perfect day. Add a Chiefs win, and it’s basically a holiday.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE TV SHOW OR PODCAST?
TV time? Not likely—the kids run that department. I stick to podcasts where at least I get to pick the channel.
WHAT’S ONE THING YOU THINK MAKES BLAST IT CLEAN STAND OUT IN THE INDUSTRY?
The people. Everyone here actually cares about doing the job right—and that shows in the results.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE STARTING A CAREER IN SALES OR ESTIMATING?
Listen more than you talk. Ask questions, learn fast, and don’t fake what you don’t know—honesty travels. And if all else fails, bring donuts!
