ALEX’S ROLE AT BLAST IT CLEAN
Alex joined Blast It Clean in April as our Client Development Manager, bringing a strong focus on customer relationships and business growth across the Chicago area. His role involves working closely with facilities to understand project needs and connect clients with the right surface preparation, industrial cleaning, and coating services for their operations. After recently relocating from Wisconsin to Chicago to be closer to the Bridgeview shop, Alex has quickly become an important part of the team.

WHAT DREW YOU TO BLAST IT CLEAN?
From the beginning of the process, I really appreciated all the people I interacted with and the opportunity to be a part of something growing and great, while also having the chance to learn and grow.
WHAT HAS THE TRANSITION TO CHICAGO BEEN LIKE SO FAR?
The transition so far has been great. Living in the city is a little different from being in Wisconsin; you have a permanent nightlight! Also, the ability to walk everywhere is a great plus, and there are great restaurants too.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP IN YOUR OPINION?
I think a good relationship with a customer is built on the ability to listen to each other because, at the end of the day, we are all working toward one common goal.
WHAT ARE YOU HOPING TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR ROLE THIS YEAR?
By the end of the year, my goal is to develop a strong grasp of company processes and product knowledge so I can work more confidently and efficiently, while also building strong relationships with my co-workers.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE TOMORROW, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?
There are some great places in this world, but I would have to say Florida. I have family that lives down there, and I don't get to see them often.
WHAT IS ONE GOAL YOU HAVE OUTSIDE OF WORK?
With the move to Chicago, creating new friendships will be one of my goals.
WHAT IS ONE THING YOU MISS ABOUT WISCONSIN?
I think this goes without saying, but the traffic in Chicago is the worst. In Wisconsin, traffic happens because tractors or combines are on the road.
WHAT DO YOU USUALLY DO ON WEEKENDS?
I’m big on being around family and friends, whether that’s hanging out at a BBQ or playing a round of golf.
IF YOU COULD INSTANTLY BECOME AN EXPERT AT ONE SKILL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
One non-work skill I would choose is golf. You can have an incredible round one day, then come back later and struggle through multiple bad rounds in a row. That constant challenge and pursuit of consistency is what makes the game so addictive.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO KEEP PUSHING IN SALES?
What motivates me in sales is that no deal or project is ever the same. You always have different obstacles and challenges that keep you on your toes.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT WORKING WITH THE BLAST IT CLEAN TEAM?
In my short time here, it seems like every time I talk to someone, they’re smiling. It really feels like everyone wants to be here. Being a strong team is what makes this place awesome. We’re all working toward the same goal — providing great service for our customers.
